MawisPasport
local roads

Do you want to keep track of the condition of local roads in your municipality, or do you simply want to comply with a legal requirement?

Please contact us, and we will prepare a comprehensive road inventory for you.

The local road inventory is a comprehensive record of all roads in your municipality. It contains information on all roads, sidewalks, parking lots, bridges, and other road infrastructure.

Legislation: Act No. 13/1997 Coll. on Roads (as amended) requires the maintenance of a road register, whereby the minimum scope of the local road register includes the length of local roads of Classes I through IV, the number and total length of bridges on them, and the amount of funds spent on their construction and, separately, on their maintenance. The local road register also includes a record of special-purpose roads.

Why is it important to have a local road inventory?

  • Records of the extent, type, and technical condition of roads
  • Eligibility requirements for state grants for the repair and maintenance of local roads
  • Effective Management and Maintenance (Winter Maintenance)
  • A basis for budgeting, planning repairs, and constructing new buildings
  • Compliance with legal obligations
  • Public Safety
  • Integration with digital GIS systems and interconnection with other departments (street lighting, green spaces, traffic signage)
  • We will prepare local road data in the JVF DTM format—the Unified Exchange Format for the Digital Technical Map.

What information is recorded in the local road inventory?

    Basic identification information:

  • Name of road/section
  • Type and category
  • Start and end of a section (connection, intersection)
  • Road administrator and owner
  • Technical specifications:

  • Length and width of the section
  • Road surface area in square meters
  • Surface type
  • Technical condition
  • Additional features and amenities:

  • Sidewalks (type, width, length, surface)
  • Parking lots and types of parking spaces (parallel, angled, perpendicular)
  • Public transportation stops
  • And more…
  • What steps will we take when creating a road inventory?

  • We will work with you to assess the condition of the road infrastructure you own
  • We will inspect all the roads on your property
  • If any part of the road is new or has been modified, we will also conduct a survey of the road
  • We will then process the collected data in GIS software into SHP files and tables, and assess the technical condition of the roadways
  • What do we need from you?

  • Definition of the scope of local roads, adjacent areas, and sidewalks
  • Approval of the completed inventory and cooperation in the classification of roads
  • The final output is submitted in the following format:

  • SHP map output (GIS format)
  • Tables (XLS, PDF)
  • Local Road Inventory in the MawisGeoportal App

  • Display of road inventory elements and their properties
  • Photos
  • Option to filter items based on selected criteria and export to XLS, SHP, or print
  • Maintenance Planning
  • Sharing data with colleagues or the public
  • I can help you with your property inventories
