MawisPasport
street lighting

Do you want to keep track of the condition and layout of streetlights in your municipality, or do you simply want to comply with legal requirements?

Please contact us, and we will prepare a comprehensive public lighting inventory for you.

A streetlight inventory is a key tool for safe operation, cost savings, and long-term infrastructure development.

Legislation: According to the Building Act (No. 283/2021 Coll.), public lighting is classified as a technical infrastructure facility, and the municipality is required to ensure that it remains in a safe and proper condition.

Why is it important to have a streetlight inventory?

  • A well-prepared project proposal serves as the basis for grant applications to modernize public lighting and switch to LED
  • The system will streamline the management of public lighting and the tracking of lighting fixture malfunctions and repairs
  • The public lighting inventory, together with other inventories, the Digital Technical Map, the Real Estate Cadastre, the zoning plan, and other mapping data, will facilitate the planning of comprehensive renovations and revitalization projects
  • The public lighting inventory is available through the MawisGeoportal online map application—the application can be accessed from anywhere simply by clicking on a web link
  • You can edit, add to, and share the information in your profile yourself
  • We will prepare local road data in the JVF DTM format—the Unified Exchange Format for the Digital Technical Map.

What information is recorded in the public lighting inventory?

  • Map showing the locations of light points, switch points, and cable routes
  • Pole type, pole height, connection point (switch-on point), power consumption, number of light points, light point type, serial numbers
  • Information on switching points, serial number, circuit breaker size, switching method
  • Information on equipment mounted on streetlight poles (public address speakers, cameras, traffic radars)
  • Photo documentation
  • Length, type, and material of the cable
  • Information on the date of purchase, repairs, and inspections
  • Additional important information
  • What steps will we take when creating a public lighting inventory?

  • We will survey the data, including the routes of underground (located using a detector) and above-ground lines
  • We use state-of-the-art methods for field data collection, including large-scale data collection via laser scanning and photogrammetry
  • We will enter the data into the municipality's geographic information system or the MawisGeoportal
  • What do we need from you?

  • Define the area in which the public lighting system under your management is located
  • Ensuring access to power outlets
  • Cooperation in data collection
  • Approval of the completed passport
  • The final output is submitted in the following format:

  • SHP map output (GIS format)
  • Tables (XLS, PDF)
  • Public Lighting Inventory in the MawisGeoportal Application

  • Display of public lighting inventory items and their properties
  • Photos
  • Option to filter items based on selected criteria and export to XLS, SHP, or print
  • Maintenance Planning
  • Sharing data with colleagues or the public
  • I can help you with your property inventories
