traffic signs

Would you like to keep track of the condition and placement of traffic signs in your community?

Please contact us; we will create a passport for you.

A traffic signage inventory is a comprehensive record of all vertical and horizontal traffic signs in your municipality.

Legislation: The traffic signage inventory complies with Act No. 361/2000 Coll., on Road Traffic, and with Decree No. 294/2015 Coll. It includes both vertical and horizontal traffic signage.

Why is it important to have a traffic sign inventory?

  • Overview of the Placement and Replacement of Traffic Signs
  • Planning maintenance, restoration, and realignment of signage
  • Providing proof of legal registration (e.g., in the event of traffic accidents, insurance claims, etc.)
  • Application Guidelines for Grants for Safety Measures (Signage for Bike Paths and Schools)
  • Support for preparing applications for approval of the placement of new traffic signs
  • What information is recorded in the traffic signage inventory?

  • Type and number of signs as specified in Annex 1 to Decree No. 294/2015 Coll.
  • Location on the map (GPS coordinates)
  • Condition of signs, photographic documentation
  • Support structures (posts, cantilevers)
  • What steps will we take when creating a traffic sign inventory?

  • We will work with you to assess the condition of the documentation for traffic signage
  • We'll go over all the signs in the field
  • If the traffic signs have not yet been surveyed, we will conduct a survey of the traffic signs
  • We then process the collected data in GIS software into SHP format
  • We will display the data on the MawisGeoportal online map portal or provide it to you in any format you choose
  • The final output is submitted in the following format:

  • SHP map output (GIS format)
  • Tables (XLS, PDF)
  • Traffic Sign Inventory in the MawisGeoportal App

  • Display of traffic sign inventory items and their properties
  • Photos
  • Option to filter items based on selected criteria and export to XLS, SHP, or print
  • Maintenance Planning
  • Sharing data with colleagues or the public
  • I can help you with your property inventories
