Preventive Measures to Ensure Proper Application Functionality

The Mawis applications (MawisUtility, MawisGeoportal, MawisTools, etc.) are web applications that are developed and continuously updated to ensure stable performance, security, and new features.

To ensure that your applications run smoothly and without issues, we recommend following these best practices.

1. Use supported web browsers

Mawis applications are developed and tested on the latest versions of the following web browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox

Using other browsers or outdated browsers may result in:

  • incorrect map display,
  • broken forms,
  • errors when saving or editing data,
  • slower app response times.

We recommend that you always have the latest version of your browser installed.

2. Clearing the cache – the first step when encountering problems

If the app does not behave as described in the Help section, or:

  • new features are not displayed,
  • The app is behaving abnormally,
  • there are errors in the map or forms,

We recommend clearing your web browser's cache as a first step.

The cache may contain:

  • old versions of scripts,
  • outdated map data,
  • temporary data that may affect the proper functioning of the app after an update.
Instructions for clearing the cache:

💡 Tip: After clearing your cache, we recommend restarting your browser and logging back into the app.

3. Regularly update your operating system and browser

For Mawis applications to run properly, we recommend:

  • have an up-to-date operating system (Windows / macOS),
  • enable automatic updates for the web browser,
  • Up-to-date graphics drivers (especially when working with maps and 3D data).

An outdated environment can negatively impact the performance of mapping applications.

4. Working with Multiple Panels and Staying Logged In

For long-term use, we recommend:

  • Do not leave the app open for several days without refreshing the page,
  • avoid working with a large number of parallel panels of the same application,
  • If the page remains inactive for an extended period, refresh it (F5).

This will prevent problems with data synchronization and user sessions.
