In early October (specifically, October 2\u20136, 2023), the 27th World Road Congress, organized by the World Road Association (PIARC), was held at the Congress Center in Prague\u2019s Vy\u0161ehrad district. For a week, the capital became the center of attention for the global road community, as the event welcomed more than 3,500 delegates from various countries across 35 national pavilions featuring over 300 exhibitors. The opening ceremony was officially launched by Minister of Transport Martin Kupka, Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda, Head of the Road and Motorway Directorate (\u0158SD) Radek M\u00e1tl, and Chairman of the Czech Road Society Petr Mondschein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main topics of the conference were highway and road management, mobility, resilient infrastructure and safety, sustainability, and operations and maintenance. New topics such as carbon neutrality, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, and charging infrastructure were also discussed.

Why did we decide to have our own booth?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our booth was part of the Czech-Slovak Village pavilion, which also featured major players in the Czech and Slovak markets such as Dopraslav, Metrostav, \u0158SD, Strabag, Swietelsky, \u0160koda, Vinci Construction, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The presence of such a large number of experts and government representatives offered not only the Czech Republic but also us personally a unique opportunity to draw inspiration, share experiences, present our services and plans, and conduct business negotiations with people from beyond the field of road infrastructure. After all, a surveyor is needed for every construction project, including road construction. Moreover, our state-of-the-art data collection methods save labor, time, and money. That is why our specialists, fellow surveyors at the booth, presented the Trimble X9 laser scanner and the professional DJI M300 drone. What does it mean to be a partner at Student Day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n One of our long-term goals as a company is to raise awareness of our field and reach out to young, motivated people. That is why our HR department works closely with secondary schools and universities in the fields of geodesy and geoinformatics. At the conference, each day was dedicated to a student group (approximately 500 future experts) under the name \u201cStudent Days.\u201d Each of these \u201cgroups\u201d was sponsored by a selected company, which guided them around the venue that day and answered their questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were given this task during the second half of the event (on Thursday, October 5, 2023). Our colleagues at the booth received a number of interesting questions and certainly weren\u2019t bored for a moment. During the opening remarks for both the morning and afternoon sessions, it was emphasized how important it is to work in a family business with employees based on trust and to bring that family atmosphere into the workplace, and that at HRDLI\u010cKA spol. s r.o., we are looking for diverse talents, because we don\u2019t just have surveyors working here, but also economists, lawyers, HR specialists, administrative staff, and other employees. So, what did we take away from the conference?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A wealth of contacts and new ideas. Plus, the satisfaction of representing our work on a global stage\u2014work that some of us have been dedicated to for over 30 years. Experiences and inspiration.
