They take a purely individualized approach to each customer—striving to find a solution tailored to their specific needs, select the right device, and provide support and assistance in their work. This is achieved primarily through training and education, because a device’s full potential can only be realized in the hands of an experienced and trained professional.

About Polygon Radeton: We have been gathering experience for many years, and it was precisely in line with this philosophy that the idea arose to build Polygon—a training center where customers can encounter more than 200 different types of malfunctions across all kinds of utility networks. This allows them to experience, all in one place, real-world situations that they would otherwise encounter in the field only rarely or after a very long time. Another key aspect of Polygon is accelerating the intergenerational transfer of expertise, as older, more experienced workers retire and the younger generation either lacks the experience to replace them or has no interest in the field. And that is another key purpose of the Polygon: to attract the younger generation, introduce modern technologies in utility network surveying, and spark interest in this field. This is also why Radeton has established partnerships with several secondary schools and universities. The primary purpose of Polygon is educational: to gain as much information and experience as possible from real-world failure scenarios involving all types of utility networks in a relatively short period of time.

Problem: Radeton realized that, in order to effectively train and prepare its staff for various situations in the field, it was essential to have sufficiently detailed documentation of the test site. Traditional documentation methods, such as photographs and paper records, were not precise enough and were costly. The company was looking for a modern, automated solution that would enable easy documentation and the creation of 3D models from these records.

Solution: Radeton decided to implement the MawisPhoto system into its operations. This mobile app offers a revolutionary approach to documenting buildings and utility networks using 3D models created from videos captured with mobile phones. This allows workers to easily upload photos and videos directly into the app, and these recordings are then used to create an accurate 3D model.

After its initial experience with MawisPhoto, Radeton found that this system offers several key advantages:

Fast and accurate documentation: Thanks to the mobile app, workers can immediately take photos and videos of the terrain, enabling fast and accurate documentation of the current situation at the test site.

3D models for better analysis: The 3D models created provide detailed and quantifiable information about the structure of the polygon and its utility networks. This enables better analysis and planning of future training scenarios.

Increased efficiency: The automated documentation process reduces administrative burdens and saves time. Employees can focus more on the training itself and on improving their skills.

Better worker training: Thanks to accurate documentation and 3D models, workers have access to realistic and up-to-date data about the site, which enhances their ability to identify and resolve issues in the field.

Results: After implementing the MawisPhoto system, Radeton saw improvements in its operational processes. Training scenarios became more realistic and better reflected real-world situations, leading to higher-quality training and better preparation of employees. Thanks to 3D models, they can better plan for and anticipate potential risk situations.

Overall, the MawisPhoto system has provided Radeton with a modern and effective tool for documenting the test range and improving training activities. This has made it possible to provide better training and increase the safety and reliability of utility networks, which contributes to the overall improvement of the industry and the protection of the environment.

Case Study: RADETON’s Use of MawisPhoto About the client: Radeton is primarily a provider of solutions, technologies, and equipment for tracing cables and pipes and for detecting water and gas leaks.
